Rachel Thomason, GCDF, CRPW, CCSP

President

Rachel is a Certified Professional Resume Writer and Global Career Development Facilitator. She has worked with clients over the past six years to help them find employment. A graduate of Western Kentucky University whose career started in Human Resources and moved into training. Rachel is a Curriculum Developer for the State of Tennessee, Division of TennCare where she writes and develops system-based training in a corporate training environment. She has her own resume and HR consulting business and serves on the certification committee for the Professional Association of Resume Writers. Rachel is passionate about helping others become the best version of themselves.

                Elizabeth Stone, MA, E.d.          

Communications Chair

Elizabeth is a Director of Career Development for Virginia College in Knoxville.  She has worked with clients and students over the past six years to assist them with finding employment in their field of study.  She is a masters graduate of Tusculum University whose career starting in Organizational Management with the Coca-Cola Company and progressed into the post-secondary education field.  Elizabeth is passionate about her community and helping others become a productive part of the community.


Simone Stewart, M. Ed, CCSP, GCDF 

Membership Chair

Simone is a Career Consultant who works to assist students with career options, graduate school planning, and preparation for the next steps after college. Her passion is working with students and underrepresented populations and empowering them to plan for and realize a great career. She is a proud military veteran and in her spare time, she loves genealogy research and letter-boxing.

Darla Hillard, MA, E.d.

Secretary

Darla is a career accountant and employee development professional. She holds a BS in Accounting from Tennessee Wesleyan College and a MA.Ed in Human Resource Development from Tusculum College. She is passionate about the success of others. Darla is a Career Development Specialist at Virginia College in Knoxville.  She loves to cook, read and is a self-proclaimed "fixer" by nature, who loves a challenging Excel spreadsheet project.  


Stephanie Potter

Regional Chair, West Tennessee

Stephanie is the Employment Specialist for Amerigroup working with the new Employment and Community First CHOICES program, where she develops and implements the employment strategy and acts as a subject matter expert on employment. She has over 18 years’ experience and has spearheaded many collaborations across TN to promote competitive, integrated and customized employment for people with disabilities. She directed employment departments for providers and worked within the Workforce Development system to ensure access for people with disabilities in the American Job Centers. Her passion is working with transition aged youth and she helped develop three Project SEARCH sites and a Seamless Transition Project here in Tennessee.

Contributing Leadership Member

Windie Wilson is the Director of Workforce Connections and the local Workforce Development Board in Knoxville, TN. She has been developing and administering career related services and programs in the workforce development arena for more than two decades. Windie is one of the founding members and former president of the Tennessee Career Development Association. She is former chair of the Career Development Facilitator Advisory Council for the National Career Development Association and also serves as part of NCDA’s state leadership committee. Windie is a Marano Fellow of Aspen Institute’s Sector Skills Academy.

Amanda is the Austin-East Magnet High School Counselor in Knoxville, TN.


Melinda Gibbons, Ph. D

Melinda is the Associate Professor for Educational & Psychology Counseling at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville.
